It is also rich in iron, calcium, and other essential vitamins and minerals. Plus, unlike traditional dairy cheese, tofu is low in saturated fat and calories, making it a healthier alternative.

If You’re New To Cooking Tofu, Here Are Some Easy Ways To Make It:
Tofu comes in different types, like firm and extra-firm. In Western recipes, we usually use these types because they are easy to cut, fry, grill, and eat since they have a solid texture.
You can make tofu firmer and denser by pressing out the excess water. You can use a special tool called a tofu press, or you can use some items you may have at home. Wrap the tofu in a towel or paper towels, put it on a plate, and place something heavy on top of it, like a cast-iron skillet. Use your hands to gently press down on the tofu. Let it sit for 10-30 minutes to get the best results.
- How to Bake
First, press the extra firm tofu for 30 minutes to reduce the moisture, then cut it into cubes or slices. Next, marinate it for 30 minutes in a sauce or marinade. Put the tofu on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake it at 400°F for 35-40 minutes. Flip it halfway through and you can brush more marinade on it for extra flavor. Baking is a simple method that gives you a chewy dish without needing to do much. - How to Pan-fry
For pan-fried tofu – Dry the firm tofu by gently pressing it, then slice it into fingers or slices. Heat some olive oil in a pan and cook the tofu until it’s crispy. Add some salt and pepper for flavor. If you want a crunchy crust, coat the tofu with cornstarch and spices before pan-frying it. - How to Simmer
To get a firmer and bouncier texture, cube the tofu and simmer it in salted water for 60 seconds. This will remove the extra liquid and make the proteins tighter.
