This edible cookie dough will definitely hit the spot.  It’s so easy to make, with just a handful of ingredients, and ready to devour in no time. It’s made without eggs or raw flour, which means it’s safe to eat, with no baking required!  Using heat-treated flour makes it safe for everyone to eat so there’s no need to sneak those risky bites of cookie dough anymore!

This edible cookie dough can be refrigerated and when the craving hits, it can be enjoyed as a tasty, heaping spoonful of yumminess!

How to make edible cookie dough:

  1. Heat treat the flour either by oven or microwave.
  2. Cream butter and sugars.  Butter should be room temperature.
  3. Add in salt and vanilla
  4. Add in flour and mix.
  5. Slowly add in non-dairy milk until desired consistency.  It’s important to note that the mixture will be dry and crumbly before you add the milk at the end. Be sure to add it slowly, just until the dough reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Add in chocolate chips
  7. DEVOUR!

How to heat treat flour:

    • Oven: Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spread the flour out onto a large baking sheet. Bake for about 5 minutes, making sure thee flour is not browned or toasted looking. Ensure that the flour reached an internal temperature of 160F by using an instant read thermometer.
    • Microwave: Place flour in a microwave safe bowl or dish. Heat for 30-45 seconds, up to 1 minute. Check the temperature of the flour using an instant read thermometer of 160F.

After heat-treating, if there are clumps of flour, be sure to run the flour through a sifter to help break up any clumps to prevent any lumps in your dough.

You can also freeze cookie dough by sealing it in an airtight freezer container and placing it in the freezer until you’re ready to use it. To thaw, simply transfer the container from the freezer to the fridge and thaw overnight.

The only way to make cookie dough better?  Add chocolate chips and a spoon!
