1/2cupnatural creamy peanut butterI like Jif no sugar added, or you could also use a chunky peanut butter, add more if you want a thicker peanut butter layer
CHOCOLATE LAYER
1/2 to 1cupdairy-free chocolate chips or dark chocolate chipsdepending on how thick you want your chocolate layer
2tablespoonspeanut butter or 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Slice each date in half and lay them flat on a sheet of parchment paper on a large baking sheet. Cover dates with another sheet of parchment and use a rolling pin to flatten them or use a the bottom of a cup and smash them down.
PEANUT BUTTER LAYER
Melt the peanut butter in the microwave for 10-15 seconds until runny looking. Drizzle, then pread it evenly over the flattened dates with the back of a spoon.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter or coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
