Easy Avocado Hummus

This creamy and flavorful avocado hummus is a quick and easy appetizer or snack. Perfect for dipping vegetables, pita bread, or tortilla chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas well drained (approx. 425g)
  • 2 medium ripe avocados
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp tahini optional
  • 3 Tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic peeled
  • 1/8 tsp cumin
  • 1 -2 Tbsp cilantro leaves chopped, dried or fresh also for topping if desired
  • Salt and ground black pepper for seasoning
  • Red pepper flakes for topping

Instructions

  • Pulse chickpeas, avocados, olive oil, tahini, lime juice, garlic, cumin, and cilantro in a food processor until smooth, about 2 – 4 minutes until smooth and creamy.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve topped with more olive oil and sprinkle with cilantro and red pepper flakes if desired.

  • Serve with pita chips or tortilla chips.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of lime juice, garlic, and red pepper flakes to your liking. For a smoother hummus, peel the chickpeas before blending.
