Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour 180g
  • ½ cup organic sugar 100g
  • 1 tsp baking powder 4g
  • ½ tsp baking soda 2g
  • ¼ tsp salt 1g
  • ¾ cup vegan milk 180ml
  • ¼ cup maple syrup 60ml
  • ¼ cup oil 60ml
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 5ml
  • ¼ cup vegan chocolate chips 45g

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your donut tray.
  • In a stand mixer or large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low until evenly combined.
  • Add the vegan milk, maple syrup, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until the batter is smooth, but do not overmix.
  • Spoon the batter into the donut tray, filling each slot about ¾ full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the donuts cool in the tray for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled donuts, or dip the tops, and let it set before serving.

Notes

  • Don't overmix for fluffiness.
  • Dip or drizzle chocolate as desired.
  • Enhance maple flavor by adding a drop of maple extract.
  • Gluten-free: Use a 1:1 flour blend.
  • Milk: Swap almond for soy, oat, or cashew.
  • Toppings: Add nuts or sprinkles.
  • Oil: Try coconut for extra flavor.
